Collection consists of an Engineers' Register for the time period of September 12-December 18, 1927. Created at the Carrizozo shops. Register contains train number, direction bound, engine number, engineer's name and fireman's name with accumulated mileage for each, time of arrival, rest since last run, and length of time for last run.

The Southern Pacific Railroad was founded in 1865 and was purchased in 1869 by Collis Huntington, Leland Stanford, Charles Crocker and Mark Hopkins, better known as the Big Four.
